Mikheil Saakashvili to Christo Grozev: Could you please look into suspicious Russian and Russia affiliated movements in Georgia - shadowy and oligarchic schemes existing between Georgia and Russia?

05.01.23 10:30

The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, addresses Christo Grozev, the head of investigative journalism group, Bellingcat.

"Dear Christo,

I’ve been a longtime admirer of your work but would never think that one day I would have to ask for your help.As you might know top U.S. lab and a prominent NY toxicologist have conclusively determined that in March this year I was poisoned in prison. It is true that in March I felt very bad, had high fever, crunches, vomiting, lots of sweating, headache, and Covid tests were negative. Since then, my health has not recovered. Prison authorities had to transfer me into a hospital, where doctors immediately suspected poisoning, but the administration dragged their feet to the maximum so that the traces of poisoning would evaporate from the blood. Unfortunately for them, much later the poison of heavy metal was found in my hair and nails.I am writing to you openly as my correspondence is controlled anyway. Could you please look into suspicious Russian and Russia affiliated movements in Georgia? It is a well-established fact that general Beseda and other FSB officials used to come to Georgia frequently. Could you please look into shadowy and oligarchic schemes existing between Georgia and Russia? I am sure there is much to be found there and it would also be instrumental to saving my life.

Truly Yours,

Mikheil Saakashvili," reads the letter which was posted on Mikheil Saakashvili's Facebook page.
