Yesterday, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, in the case "Tsaava et al. v. Georgia", unequivocally confirmed that on June 20, 2019, there was a violent storming and an attempted violent invasion of the Parliament of Georgia. The European Court also clearly established that it was legitimate for the police to use force, including special means, against a violent demonstration.

However, unlike the European Court, the foreign political mediators of the April 19 agreement did not talk about criminal violence, but about "perceived cases of politicized justice", thus making "perceptions" the basis of political discussion.

Last week they once again attacked the Parliament of Georgia. Unfortunately, the mistake of 2019 was repeated again, some foreign actors, without looking ahead, baptized the violent demonstrations as "peaceful" and condemned the legitimate action of the police, with minimal use of force.

Such a superficial and biased attitude towards political events only increases political violence and damages the democratic process in Georgia. And this is against the background that despite making wrong conclusions every time, these actors do not even think about taking responsibility.

Clashes between front-line demonstrators and police officers who formed a cordon at the steps of the Parliament building continued until 11.55 pm and included incidents such as the hijacking of police equipment, throwing of various objects (water bottles but also stones) at the police, and individual officers being separated And they were taken away from the cordon.
