Levan Davitashvili: Georgia spared nothing to help Ukraine - our position is on the side of truth, but at the same time, our position is to defend the interests of the population of Georgia and maintain peace

The position of Georgia is to defend the interests of the population of Georgia, and the fact that we maintain peace in Georgia is the main interest of our country and the future development of our country, said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili in an interview with IPN, speaking about the war in Ukraine.

As Davitashvili noted, Georgia spared nothing to help Ukraine.

"The opposition clearly has its own agenda. We see that, unfortunately, they do not have objective evaluations, it is a subjective agenda. As for the position of Georgia itself, the government of Georgia has a very clear position here - it is the unwavering support of Ukraine. In all international formats, Georgia is one of the first supporters of all international resolutions, Georgia clearly stated this in more than 300 international resolutions supporting Ukraine. What is happening in Ukraine is a truly horrifying tragedy for all of us - full-scale hostilities in the heart of Europe, in our immediate neighborhood. War is very tragic in the 21st century. Therefore, we are doing our best to help Ukraine from a humanitarian point of view. Georgia spared nothing. I would like to emphasize that the position of Georgia is very clear, the position of Georgia is on the side of truth, but at the same time, the position of Georgia is to defend the interests of the population of Georgia, and the fact that we maintain peace in Georgia is the main interest of our country and the future development of our country," said Davitashvili.
