Lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze asked Mikheil Saakashvili to stand up, lift his shirt and visually show his condition to the public at the ongoing trial in Tbilisi City Court. However, judge Giorgi Arevadze did not allow the convicted president to do so.

"I would like to appeal to Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili to stand up, lift his shirt and let the public see you, so that Mr. Judge can also look at the state of Mikheil Saakashvili. This is almost the same situation as when the boys of the Azov battalion were released. Let's see what state he is in and satisfy the public interest. Let's see the result of the 8-month treatment, which the medical department of the Penitentiary Service is doing so "successfully", Khachapuridze said.

On the other hand, at Shalva Khachapuridze's appeal, Judge Giorgi Arevadze noted that if Mikheil Saakashvili "started undressing" during the session, he would be disconnected and would not be allowed to participate in the process.

"If you want to get up, if you start undressing, you will be disconnected and you will not be allowed to participate," said the judge.
