In January 2023, the salary of all civil servants will increase by 10% and this increase will continue in the following years. The salaries of policemen, soldiers and security service employees will be increased by 20% from January, Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said at the Government meeting.
As the Prime Minister explained, the financing of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service will increase by 490 million GEL; 290 million GEL will provided allocated for increasing the salaries of policemen, soldiers and security service employees.
"You remember that in January we increased the salaries of all civil servants by 10%. In January 2023, the salary of all civil servants will again increase by 10%, and this increase will continue in the following years. The salaries of policemen, soldiers and security service employees will be increased by 20% from January. In addition, I would like to say that in order to improve the social conditions for policemen and soldiers, we considered the construction of residential apartments. Army City is being constructed and we will open it in a few months. We will provide residential apartments to more than 1000 soldiers. This program will continue in the future.
In a few weeks we will start the construction of Police City. More than 1,000 police officers will get apartments, and it will certainly be a long-term program. I want to emphasize that this is not a one-time program," Gharibashvili said.
