Shalva Papuashvili: A lot of disinformation has been spread recently to drag Georgia into the Russia-Ukraine war, it is already hard to name all of them

According to the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, a lot of disinformation has been spread recently to drag Georgia into the Russia-Ukraine war.

He evaluated the statement of Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, who said that "if Georgia considers Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions its own territories, it should protect its own lands."

According to Papuashvili, the only purpose of spreading disinformation is to harm Georgia's reputation, cause commotion in society and drag Georgia into the conflict.

"Society is tired of such attacks and calls against the population of Georgia. It's hard for me to even comment seriously. One thing is clear. Our society supports the Government, as everyone can see how many risks Georgia is facing in this critical period, when the region and the whole world face such a big challenge.

As for the direct involvement in the military conflict with Russia, everyone saw what efforts were made in this regard. Until today, there has been a hybrid war aimed at spreading disinformation against Georgia and the Georgian people. It is already difficult to name all of this disinformation.

Let's recall statements about milk products, military planes, circumvention of sanctions, ships, etc. All this turned out to be a lie against Georgia. The only reason is to harm the reputation of Georgia, to cause commotion in the society, to somehow shake the Government in order to change it and to get Georgia involved in a military conflict," said Papuashvili.
