The state will subsidize flight tickets to attend the matches of the Georgian national team at the European Championship in Germany.
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze announced the relevant decision at the government meeting.
According to his explanation, charter flights will also be scheduled. According to the Prime Minister, the cost of the two-way ticket will be 390 euros and 3 thousand fans will be able to purchase it.
"On June 18, 22, 26, matches of the Georgian national team will be held in the corresponding subgroup, and it is very important that as many Georgian fans as possible attend these matches. For this, it is important to make travel cheaper and easier. Accordingly, we have taken action.
Subsidized charter flights are scheduled, and regular flights are also subsidized. These flights will be adjusted on match dates. Direct flights will be provided to German cities - Dortmund, Hamburg, Cologne and Düsseldorf. In total, 3,000 fans will be able to purchase subsidized tickets. About 2,000 fans will be provided direct flights from Tbilisi International Airport, and 1,000 fans from Kutaisi International Airport. The price of one road with subsidy will be 195 euros, therefore, the price of two roads will be 390 euros. The fan will be able to make his own travel schedule, can attend 1, 2 or 3 matches and will have flexibility. Citizens of Georgia will be able to purchase these tickets, those citizens who have purchased football match tickets. The relevant match ticket must be presented when purchasing air tickets. We will put the tickets on sale by the end of the week on the relevant electronic platform", said Irakli Kobakhidze.
