Shalva Papuashvili: The interest of the National Movement, Lelo and Strategy Builder is to discredit the process and prevent Georgia from getting candidate status

How many times should the National Movement, Lelo and Strategy Builder expose themselves that they are actually one coalition – the divisions and parts of the National Movement?! Their interest is to discredit the process and prevent Georgia from getting candidate status, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, said at the briefing.

According to Papuashvili, there is no chance of constructiveness and implementation of recommendations, when these parties "clearly and openly say that they are against Georgia's European future".

"In general, I think we all agree that there are political groups that do not want Georgia to receive candidate status. I think this is already clear to our population. Receiving the candidate status will automatically mean that the Government worked well and therefore the Government, Georgian Dream and the parties that participated in this process will have a more advantageous position. That's why we see that they are discrediting the process, so that in the end Georgia does not get the status. How many times should the National Movement, Lelo and Strategy Builder expose themselves that they are actually one coalition – the divisions and parts of the National Movement?! Their interest is to discredit the process and prevent Georgia from getting candidate status. The fact that these three parties are not involved in the parliamentary formats directly indicates that they have a radical agenda. At the same time, they announce rallies from September. How can we talk about constructiveness and implementation of recommendations? They say directly, clearly and openly that they are against the European future of Georgia. This is the only assessment that I can make," Papuashvili said.
