After so many attacks, the expectation that we will achieve something in terms of integration with the West is very low. This is impossible, because they have done everything to make sure that they no longer have friends in the West, Chairwoman of Transparency International – Georgia, Eka Gigauri, thus evaluates the statements made by the representatives of the ruling team about US Ambassador Kelly Degnan and Western partners.

 

According to Eka Gigauri, the Government's rhetoric is agreed with Bidzina Ivanishvili.

 

"I don't think that individual members of the ruling party express their own opinion when they address our partners unethically. Their message is that the West wants to involve us in the war, which is a complete lie.

 

When you attack your Western partners and on the other hand you say you want good relations with the West, it doesn't work out that way. It seems they don't actually want it and everything is aimed at preventing us from becoming members of the European Union or NATO. After so many attacks, the expectation that we will achieve anything in terms of integration with the West is very low. This is impossible, because they did everything to make sure that they no longer have friends in the West," Eka Gigauri said.
