According to Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Builder, the visiting senators and congressmen asked questions about the former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.

 

"I will say directly that there was a discussion about Mikheil Saakashvili at this meeting as well, including questions from senators and congressmen. To be honest, we have all said and I will say this openly - in order to take further steps towards depolarization in the country, it is very important, of course, to resolve the issue of Mikheil Saakashvili. More and more of our Western partners think that the solution in this case is to transport him to the West, to Europe, for the sake of his health - this is their position which I support, because we need to understand the situation we are in today, unfortunately, we cannot escape a polarized political environment - but one is transferring Misha, and another is taking concrete steps in terms of reforms, which the Georgian Dream must do," Vashadze said.
