Among other areas, our declared priority is mountain development and the support of our partners is invaluable in this regard as well, - said the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze during the presentation of the 10-year plan of the Ministry.

 

"We are actively working to fulfill the tasks set within the framework of the Highland Settlement Development Strategy, be it - significant improvement of the demographic situation, strengthening of economic and tourism potential or other areas. According to today's data, 1,797 settlements enjoy the status of mountains, and 660,266 people have the status of permanent residents in the mountains. The so-called Since the enactment of the Mountain Law, 320 million GEL has been issued in the form of financial support, and 472 enterprises have benefited from tax benefits, ”said Irakli Karseladze.

 

According to the Minister, the budget of the Action Plan for the Development of Mountainous Settlements for 2021-2023 is more than 968 million GEL, which is 20% more than the planned action plan for 2019-2020.
