Anti-Azerbaijani statements by Shalva Natelashvili - Yerevan reanimates a political corpse?!

08.06.20 16:20

As a politician, Shalva Natelashvili has been known since the 90s. And then, at one time, against the background of conflicts in Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region, he was distinguished by theatrical “militancy” and hysterical anti-Russian statements. Shalva Natelashvili even then demanded immediately "declare war on Russia." Without clarifying the truth, with what forces, besides his unrestrained language, is he going to fight with the world's second-largest and most powerful nuclear superpower.

However, as time went on, Shalva Natelashvili realized that he was simply “lost” among other loud “hooray patriots” who were able to shake their fists at Russia, but were not able to really offer any specific recipes for solving the problem of the occupied territory. Then he abruptly “repainted” and became a “pro-Russian” politician.

At the time of Saakashvili, Natelashvili in fact "found a buyer" and decided to offer his services to the same Russia as a conductor of Russian interests in Georgia. In fact, as such, Natelashvili put forward his candidacy for the presidential elections in Georgia in 2008 and gained 6.49% of the vote. It was the "ceiling" of his popularity. Further she only began to fall. As a result, the Russian special services in Natelashvili, apparently, became disappointed and “transferred for use” to their Armenian “allies”.

It seems that today Yerevan is trying to reanimate “politically dead” Shalva Natelashvili, who, on the instructions of his Armenian “friends”, became involved in anti-Azerbaijani hysteria. Shalva Natelashvili joined the campaign of attempting to destroy the strategic partnership-linkage Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, which David Tarkhan Mouravi and Nikoloz Mzhavanadze have already “warmed up”. That’s how one should regard the briefing that Shalva Natelashvili held on June 6 - and at which he overshadowed both Mzhavanadze and Tarkhan-Mouravi with his hysteria.

Shalva Natelashvili was never religious. But “suddenly” he abruptly became a “defender of Orthodox shrines”.

“For the first time in 14 centuries, this year we were not able to celebrate Garejoba and visit the monastery of the Resurrection, there is annexation, occupation, aggression,” Shalva Natelashvili said hysterically at a briefing.

This statement is a lie. 95% of the monastery complex David Gareji is indisputably located in Georgia. And there would have been a holiday of David Garejoba, who was headed by the Locum Tenens of the patriarchal throne, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri). However, the Azerbaijani side, in response to the provocative calls of Nikoloz Mzhavanadze to violate the border, was forced to temporarily restrict access to his territory (where usually, when there is no threat of provocation, Georgian clergymen calmly conduct their services). Even this statement shows how far Shalva Natelashvili is far from Orthodoxy.

Shalva Natelashvili was indignant at the fact that the Georgian authorities did not allow provocations at the border and allegedly “instead of starting bilateral negotiations, raising international organizations by alarm, sanctioned Aliyev’s threats in Georgia,” opened a case at the State Security Service, “according to what, anyone who will say something in connection with the prevailing realities, faces a prison.”

In general, Mr. Natelashvili should be advised to read the Criminal Code of Georgia, which clearly states that illegal border crossing, as well as calls for unauthorized changes, are a criminal offense.

Then Natelashvili switched to the usual hysteria:

“The Georgian and Azerbaijani peoples lived, live and will live together. It is a policy of criminal governments, from which both peoples suffer. Therefore, in a few months, as soon as Ivanishvili’s regime changes, a criminal case will be opened for an attempt on the territory of Georgia, which provides for life imprisonment. The entire pack of Ivanishvili will be held responsible for the surrender and alienation of the territories of Georgia. If this truth is now said to be racial discrimination, then we must stop talking about the Russian occupation, because it can also be considered for inciting racial hatred, we must also stop regarding Abkhaz and Ossetian separatism - and this can be considered as inciting hatred. Ultimately, every country, when a neighbor takes her land, space, shrine, must remain silent so that she does not conceive of it for inciting racial hatred. Can you imagine the mark of betrayal in the activities of the oligarch?” said Shalva Natelashvili.

Repeating, essentially literally, the hysterical accusations of other oppositionists against the leader of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is ruling in Georgia, Shalva Natelashvili made the most fantastic accusations against the Azerbaijani leadership. He agreed to the point that “instead of fighting for the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, President Aliyev took away shrines from the Georgians in order to boast to the voters that we had not returned Karabakh but crushed Georgia”.

According to “politician”, not a single neighboring state can exist without Georgia, either geopolitically, morally, or spiritually.

“We do not recognize friendship with such occupiers. We recognize the friendship that we traditionally had with our brothers - Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Russians, Jews, Ukrainians, and everyone who surrounds us or lives with us here. We were able to get an agreement signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on June 13, 1996, according to which Azerbaijan recognizes that the Chichkhituri Monastery, the Monastery of the Resurrection, and the plots now occupied are Georgian territory. The government has such documents in its hands, such irrefutable legal facts, but it behaves so cowardly, so quietly, so shamefully. It also threatens us with prison. Ivanishvili will not wait for this whole pack, Putin and Aliyev, that we or the Azerbaijani people will be silent on this topic,” said Shalva Natelashvili.

In general, Natelashvili managed to declare war immediately and Ivanishvili, and Aliyev, and Putin. He did not declare war only on Pashinyan. And it’s clear why. Now it is its main sponsor.

True, fewer and fewer people in Georgia take Shalva Natelashvili’s clownery seriously. And the fact that Armenia is forced in Georgia to pick up and try to reanimate an open "political second-hand", or even political corpses like Shalva Natelashvili, speaks about the illegibility of the Armenian authorities, which for the sake of achieving their destructive goals are no longer ignored by any provocations and provocateurs.
