Levan Bezhashvili: We consider it unjustified that party enjoying only 2% support has nominated 2 majoritarian candidates in Tbilisi

The United National Movement may nominate a candidate in the Isani district. The party has not yet made the relevant decision, but has hinted at the above.

 

Levan Bezhashvili spoke about the majoritarian candidate of Isani district Giorgi Vashadze and recalled the period when he was in the united opposition, saying that Vashadze himself violated the unity. According to him, the National Movement considers it unjustified that party enjoying only 2% support has nominated 2 majoritarian candidates - Giorgi Vashadze and Tako Charkviani in Tbilisi.

 

"It is unfortunate that Giorgi Vashadze and his team broke the unity of the united opposition for an absolutely irrelevant reason to name him as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister. Consequently, they demanded quotas - about 10 seats in the party list, which was unacceptable to us, because the main thing now is to concentrate on the problems of voters and not on the distribution of seats. Tako Charkviani has been nominated by this group in Saburtalo constituency without any agreement with any political party. We consider it unjustified that party enjoying only 2% support has nominated 2 majoritarian candidates in Tbilisi, so there are many arguments to raise this issue again," Bezhashvili said.
