We will launch many large-scale projects this year, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at a meeting of the capital city government.
Kakha Kaladze spoke about Tbilisi 2020 budget and noted that this year will be a successful year for the capital.
“2020 will be a special year, I believe and I am confident that it will be a success for our city. If you look at the budget, there is a very important figure. When we officially started exercising authority, I remember how much the budget was - in 2017 it was about $ 800 million, much lower than before. We managed in 2019 and increased the budget to 900 million. By the way, my pre-election promise was that the budget would exceed one billion GEL and that was the case last year, ”the Tbilisi Mayor noted.
According to him, this year about 1 billion 245 million will be spent on only two main directions: infrastructure and healthcare.
He called on the governors and the heads of the Tbilisi City Hall for maximum attention and spoke about the importance of public involvement in the selection of priorities.
He said that since many projects are planned to be implemented, some discomfort is expected for the population.
“This year we will start many large-scale projects and there will be some discomfort for the population. I would like to apologize in advance, but otherwise, there is no work to do, "the Tbilisi mayor said, noting that the public will be provided with detailed information about the projects to be implemented in the coming days.
