You have a high responsibility to remove the mark on the profession of the prosecutor made by a branding iron during the soviet period, which once again brought fear to society in the nearest history – President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili said addressing the prosecutors. The President congratulated them on the professional day and awarded the Order of Honor to 4 prosecutors.
“I would like to congratulate you on this professional day and wish you successes. You have a high responsibility to remove the mark on the profession of the prosecutor made by a branding iron during the soviet period, which once again brought fear to society in the nearest history. You have a great responsibility and a big burden, because the society expects you to solve all the painful issues that aggravate our consciousness. You should make a great contribution to restoring justice. Confidence towards you is essential for having trust in the judiciary.
Thus, your work requires impartiality, professionalism, and most importantly, the conscience. Today I am awarding 4 prosecutors the Order of Honor as a mark of appreciation and stimulus for each prosecutor who is in the service of the country, "Salome Zurabishvili said.
The President also emphasized the role of the Prosecutor's Office in the fight against transnational and organized crime and the importance of relations with "EuroJust".
“The fight against crime and, particularly transnational and organized crime, requires making strong steps on the path of democracy. I hope the agreement with the EU agency, "EuroJust", will help us in implementing it. I would like to greet the President of "EuroJust" Ladislav Hamran, who is with us now. We have an ambition that we can participate in various programs before joining the European Union, through sectoral cooperation we can reveal our capabilities better, strengthen our positions and promote the acceleration of the EU membership, " President Zurabishvili said.
