The leading mentor among young extremists and separatists in the Armenian diaspora in Georgia, Georgy Tumasyan, is as always doing his relentless "work" as a Dashnak separatist in Georgia. This is clear to all those who fight for peace in the Caucasus and against separatism in any form, and understand who George Tumasyan is.  Of course, they understand and know how and where the money from his so-called fund, which comes from the Russian Federation, is spent by Tumasyan purposely and on a quarterly basis. Armenian activists in Tbilisi are talking about it with apprehension and concern.  George Tumasyan is a collective image of the young generation of Dashnak-separatists, who actively hides behind a blanket of democracy and human rights, but who has nothing to do with the notion of democracy or the concept of the UN Charter, let alone human rights. (By the way, why he was made the representative of the youth wing of Georgia in the UN is also an interesting fact for further research into the activities and influence of the Dashnaks in Georgia). All his work and that of his associates in Georgia is permeated by the slogan - "separatism, separatism again!" This group of young Dashnaks does not wish anything common or good to their Armenian people, let alone to the Armenian community in Georgia. This is confirmed behind the scenes by those young Armenian activists who are fed up with this chauvinist and separatist bile being imposed.

But that is not what is important. Unfortunately, this young Dashnak has been nominated by some structures in Georgia as a potential unspoken leader of the Armenian community of Georgia.  Some Armenian activists, who understand the destructive effect of Tumasyan's work, talk about his status as a mediator between the Armenian diaspora in the West, the Dashnaks and structures in Georgia.  This erroneous approach to "candidacy" of Tumasyan and his team cannot do any good for Georgia. An infected separatist to his bones and conducting propaganda of separatism and extremism cannot be nominated for the leadership of the Armenian people. Not even in the unspoken.  And this of course applies to any unspoken or public leader from the Armenian community that is promoted or lobbied for by certain structures in Georgia. It is clear that this is done in the rush to control all possible interference from outside. But from the outset they emphasise a false and knowingly losing and even dangerous bet. Giorgi Tumosyan and his likes cannot bring peace, tranquillity and stability to inner-public life in Georgia, but only propaganda of separatism and extremism. Separatism that killed tens of thousands of innocent Georgians and Azerbaijanis. (To illustrate, get Tumasyan and his team to publicly censure and recognize as terrorist activities of the Armenian Baghramyan battalion, which brutalized and committed numerous acts of genocide against Georgians on the territory of Abkhazia, Georgia).

But you might argue that it is better to keep such extremists in sight. This would enable real and stable control over a possible outburst of extremism and separatism. But alas, this recipe does not work with regard to the Armenian separatism and extremism and the evidence of failures in the USA and Europe, where loyalty and softness to the Armenian extremism poured out in the streets, banks and diplomatic missions with Armenian terrorism, giving only reason to increase this terrorism repeatedly.

The issue here is not Giorgi Tumasyan's status or his personality (he is not a big goose) but the collective image of the young generation of separatists who were nurtured by the Armenian propaganda both in Armenia and in Georgia and all over the world. Any state, any country which emphasizes formation of such types-separatists as unspoken leaders of the community is defective and will give complete negative effect.  Examples abound.

Recently, Gubaz Sanikidze, an active fighter against separatism and supporter of the peace order in the Caucasus on the TV show Formula of Giorgi Targamadze noted that the first project of separatism in the Caucasus was successfully closed by Azerbaijan. And it stirred up the whole Dashnak underground in Georgia, the mouthpiece of which is actually Giorgi Tumasyan. Dashnaks through Giorgi Tumasyan spread their another nonsense in which there is not even a little bit of reason, in response to the truth of Gubaz Sanikidze.  It is clear that Gubaz Sanikidze and other politicians, who have a sober view of what is happening in the Caucasus, become targets for discredit and pressure by the Dashnaks, both within Georgia and around the world, where they can reach. And Giorgi Tumasians are conductors of this discrediting and pressure in state structures, where they conduct destructive activities.

Today, this diaspora underground of Dashnaks is looking for arguments to cover separatism and extremism, which has been cultivated in the Caucasus for more than 30 years. But the time has come for all those who did not understand what was really going on to sober up. Sobering and understanding has also come for the Armenian people, who have fallen victim to this false and destructive ideology.

Alexander Zakhariadze
