24.02.23 15:20

Ukraine has set an example to the whole world, in today's conditions of polarization, of what it means to be united around one goal. This attitude and unity has also yielded results - Russia has already been defeated in its declared goals of war, - Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said during a speech at the event dedicated to the anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to her, this war gave birth to a new self-confident and strong Europe.

"It has been a year since Russia launched a full-scale war against the independence and sovereignty of the Ukrainian state. It has been a year that the Ukrainian people, together and with an unprecedented attitude, have been enduring continuous attacks, bombings, destruction of cities, villages, people, military and civilians. The war started by Russia has been going on for a year, violating and ignoring all international principles and conventions. It has been a year since Ukraine set an example to the whole world, in today's conditions of polarization, of what it means to be united around one goal, and this goal is called Ukraine. This attitude and unity has yielded results - Russia has already been defeated in its declared goals of war, it could not defeat the Ukrainian Government, it could not defeat the patience of the people, it could not weaken the international support, on the contrary, the trust and support towards the Ukrainian Government and President is increasing day by day. Unseen solidarity, unprecedented help, not only verbally and financially, but with all possible resources. Even more unexpected for Russia was the amazing unity of the Western democratic world, which did not withdraw its support and change its principled solidarity despite energy blackmail, nuclear blackmail, economic crisis. It can be said that this war, in a way, gave rise to a new self-confident and strong Europe, which could not be formed strategically until now. Today, the whole of Europe has realized where the danger comes from and that today Ukraine is protecting not its own freedom, but the free future of everyone," Zurabishvili said.
