Voting on candidates for non-judge membership of the Supreme Council of Justice will not be held at the extraordinary session of the Parliament.

Political groups Lelo and Reforms Group used the right granted by the regulations to meet and interview the nominated candidates. Accordingly, the voting on the issue was postponed for the spring session.

As one of the leaders of Lelo Davit Usupashvili said at the Bureau session, in case of determination, a consensus on the election of members of the Supreme Council of Justice is possible, and holding consultations on this topic will be a step in the right direction. According to Usupashvili, there are 10-12 worthy and experienced candidates among the candidates presented to the Parliament.

The election of non-judge members of the Supreme Council of Justice requires a 90-vote consensus. The seats of five non-judge members in the Council have been vacant for almost two years. The competition for the position was announced in the Parliament on September 30 and 32 people applied, however, due to no agreement, the Parliament is unable to elect the members of the Supreme Council of Justice.
