The NATO Special Representative told us how much disappointed they are by the policy and anti-Western messages of by the Georgian Government, Salome Samadashvili, a member of Lelo - for Georgia, said after a meeting held between the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative of the of NATO for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Javier Colomina, and representatives of the parliamentary opposition.

As Samadashvili explained, the task of the opposition is to increase pressure of the West to force the Government to take the steps that NATO and the European Union expect from us.

"The most disturbing thing that I saw at this meeting is that NATO has never had such sharply critical evaluations regarding the reforms carried out by the Government and the fact that reforms are not taking place in the country.

The representative of NATO told us how much they are disappointed by the policy pursued by the Georgian Government, by the anti-Western messages, including attacks on the ambassadors of the European Union and the USA, generally in the direction of the West, which is heard from the Georgian Government.

In the history of Georgia's independence, we have never had a government that entered into such antagonistic relations with the West, including with NATO partners, who want to support us. This is their main problem. We presented our vision of how the reforms should be implemented.

Our task is to force this Government to take the steps that NATO and the European Union expect from us, by increasing the pressure from the West," Samadashvili said.
