Georgian Chief Prosecutor meets DAAG/Counselor for Int'l Affairs

The Georgian Chief Prosecutor, Irakli Shotadze, on Sunday, met with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Deputy Assistant Attorney General (DAAG) and Counselor for International Affairs, Bruce Swartz, at the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia (POG).

 

The pair discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of criminal law and stressed the positive dynamics between the relevant agencies in fighting against crime. The duo also expressed readiness to “further deepen” future cooperation.

 

Bruce Swartz is visiting Georgia within the framework of the 27th annual conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), at Shotadze’s special invitation.

 

On 25-29 September, the POG is hosting the 27th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) on Global Phenomena Reshaping Criminal Justice Systems.

 

300 prosecutors from 60 countries and representatives of the United Nations, the European Union, the Council of Europe, the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), relevant units working in the field of criminal justice, and high-level experts will attend the conference in Tbilisi.
