The direct message, which was publicly voiced by the NATO representatives, is that Georgia has lost the status of a champion of reforms, how can we get closer to NATO and the EU in these conditions? - Giorgi Vashadze, Chairman of Strategy Builder stated about it after the meeting with the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia Alexander Vinnikov.
Vashadze said that they talked about the Madrid summit during the meeting. As Vashadze notes, the Georgian Dream is not asking for additional defense capabilities and weapons for the country, so they raised this issue at the meeting.
"The Madrid Summit is approaching, which is of special importance for Georgia and our national security. We have raised the issue of discussing more integration issues for Georgia at the Madrid Summit. Unfortunately, the Georgian Dream does not demand additional defense capabilities and armaments for our country, we have also raised the issue to start discussing it, but all this must be done in accordance with the democratic reforms in Georgia, which is required by NATO and the EU. Further integration into NATO and the EU depends on the reforms in the April 19 agreement, which are generally on the agenda, so if the Georgian Dream tries to sell the message that NATO or the EU do not accept Georgia, it will be a lie, because all roads leading to NATO and the EU are in our hands. If the court is a clan, the elections are not free and fair, if police and SSG only carry out political tasks, neither NATO nor the European Union can accept you," Vashadze said.
