According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, from June 1, the assistance to socially vulnerable children will increase to 150 GEL. As Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili stated at today's Government sitting, the total budget for it will be 341 million GEL this year.

"I want to start talking about the protection of children's rights. As you know, taking care of them and improving their social status is our main duty and we have taken many steps in this direction. A year ago, by my decision, we doubled the assistance to socially vulnerable children, before it was 50 GEL and then it became 100 GEL. Today we made a decision to increase the mentioned aid to 150 GEL. That is, from June 1, the assistance per child is 150 GEL.

I would also like to tell you that the total budget for this year will be 341 million GEL. Also, this assistance will continue next year. Our decision is to extend this assistance every year, as caring for children is our main duty. We are concerned about the situation of all socially vulnerable people. The decision will affect more than 215 thousand children. We are also planning to launch other programs that address socially vulnerable people, such as the employment program and more. Our main task is to support and help socially vulnerable people as much as possible," Gharibashvili said.
