The public transport will reopen in early June, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told reporters on Monday.
Kaladze deniedthe reports as that public transport may be halted until July 15.
"This is false information. It is expected that the public transport will be restored in early June ... Today a meeting of the Coordination Council was held, where I personally raised the issue of public transport, as there is a great demand in the society. We are waiting for instructions, we have received no instructions yet. We are fully prepared. I am well aware of the current epidemiological situation, the need for caution, but when the decision is made, the City Hall, the relevant services are in full readiness to provide public transport service to the population, ”Kaladze said.
