NATO's maximum task is to open a second front in the South Caucasus, said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova.

Zakharova claims that the coalition standards are being actively imposed on Tbilisi, also, NATO's efforts are aimed at discrediting Yerevan's ties with Moscow, and in the case of Baku, the alliance is trying to bring strife into Azerbaijan-Russia partnership relations.

"NATO has a maximum task, specifically opening a second front against our country in the South Caucasus and setting fire to the region as a whole...

We remind you that in July 2023, at the last NATO summit, the formula adopted in 2008 was again approved, that Georgia will become a member of the alliance. In order to establish control over the defense and security sectors of this former Soviet republic, coalition standards are being actively imposed on Tbilisi.

Their efforts are aimed at discrediting Yerevan's ties with Moscow, and in the ideal case - at disrupting them completely. The West does not hide it.

They are also trying to bring strife into our partnership relations with Baku. The West has a whole "front" of goals and objectives," Zakharova said.

According to her, the North Atlantic Alliance does not like Russia's policy towards the South Caucasus, which is aimed at "pacifying" the region.
