Special Investigation Service arrests 17-year-old for leaking video of minor

Georgia’s Special Investigation Service on Wednesday said it had arrested a 17-year-old for disclosure of confidentiality of personal information and forcing a minor victim to commit sexual acts.
 

The Service said the arrested individual had exchanged messages with a 16-year-old girl in the spring of 2023, during which she had voluntarily sent a video recording of her dancing.
 

The body said the individual used the material to force the victim to take and send a video “of intimate content” following threats to modify her dancing video so that she would appear naked and send it to her parents.
 

It added after receiving the requested video, the alleged perpetrator had further requested video recordings of the victim “performing sexual acts”, while also threatening to share the already received video with her parents and relatives.
 

The victim then asked the Service for assistance, with the body adding its investigative actions had been carried out “in a short period of time” and led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator and seizure of files containing personal information of the girl during a personal search.
 

The Service added the investigation was ongoing, with the crime punishable by imprisonment for seven years.
