Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda responds to a meeting of European Union leaders in Versailles and says the EU is ready to accept Ukraine. He said the heroic Ukrainian nation deserves to know that they are welcomed in the EU.
"A historic night at Versailles. After five hours of heated discussions EU leaders said yes to Ukrainian eurointegration. The process started. Now it is up to us and Ukrainians to accomplish it fast. Heroic Ukrainian nation deserves to know that they are welcome in EU," wrote Nausėda on Twitter.
For the record, yesterday in Versailles, EU leaders met and discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine. The meeting lasts for two days. Consequently, world leaders will continue to discuss the issue of Ukraine today.
