The process of unblocking communications in the South Caucasus region and creating the Zangezur Corridor again has every chance of gaining positive dynamics. At the same time, a striking tendency is observed - the farther an Armenian lives from Zangezur, the more likely it is that he will violently oppose this corridor. And the biggest opponents and haters of the Zangezur corridor among the Armenian lobby in Russia.
So, on July 3, 2021, at the initiative of the Russian Federation (!), Armenia presented to the Azerbaijani side about 92 thousand anti-tank and anti-personnel mines in the liberated Fizuli and Zangilan regions, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported. In turn, the Azerbaijani side handed over 15 saboteurs to Armenia, whom the Armenian side called “prisoners of war”.
If in Armenia itself the exchange of "cards for saboteurs" was greeted by many sensible Armenians positively, then Armenian nationalists living in Russia began to openly resent this. In particular, the Nazi edition "Yerkramas" on the title page of which flaunts a portrait of the fascist criminal Nzhdeh with his racist quote "There should not be a single day without fighting a Turk" posted the material "Transferring top-secret information to the enemy is treason" (https://yerkramas.org/article/183470/peredacha-vragu-sverxsekretnoj-informacii-%E2%80%93-eto-gosudarstvennaya-izmena).
The article cites a Facebook post of the former Chief of Staff of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, Edgar Ghazaryan. He believes that “for the Armenian side, the maps of minefields are top secret information of military significance, the provision of this information to the enemy falls under the definition of Art. 299 of the Criminal Code of Armenia - treason" Ghazaryan is also outraged:
“While Armenia is ruled by the biggest enemy and traitor of the Armenian people, Azerbaijan easily solves all the tasks set. Through the hands of Nikol Pashinyan, they obtained territories that were out of their control for about three decades; today they get all the possibilities of their final use, they consider the Nagorno-Karabakh issue resolved, invade the territory of Armenia, sign agreements with Turkey on the use of the Armenian territory, continue to hold the citizens of Armenia captive and put forward new conditions for their return. "
It is clear what the Armenian nationalists are indignant with - the fact that the Zangezur corridor will be unblocked and Armenia, according to the "logic of war", will finally move to the "logic of peace and cooperation with neighbors." Without territorial claims to neighbors and support for separatism. Then the neo-Nazis, whose idol is Garegin Nzhdeh, will simply not be in demand, including by their own, the Armenian people.
It is no coincidence that about a month ago the same “Yerkramas” published an article by Aram Khachatryan, a member of the Moscow Union of Journalists, “Why not a road, but a“ corridor ”? The Armenians of Russia are dissatisfied with the policy of the Armenian authorities ”(https://yerkramas.org/article/182833/pochemu-ne-doroga--a-%C2%ABkoridor%C2%BB-armyane-rossii-nedovolny-politikoj-vlastej-armenii)...
At the same time, Aram Khachatryan for some reason from Moscow, and not from Yerevan, teaches what Armenia needs and records Georgia, which provides Armenia with a "window to the outside world" even at the expense of its own interests, as "enemies of Armenia":
“The demands to create a corridor through Zangezur are fraught with very dangerous consequences for Armenia. In fact, the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" in the future may legally get out of the control of Armenia. It is also fraught with the fact that Armenia can be divided into two parts, and after a while, the combined Azerbaijani-Turkish forces will completely annex the Syunik region of Armenia. In this case, the Republic of Armenia will lose direct land connection with Iran and turn into a mini-state or a secondary protectorate. In the future, Armenia will find itself in a triple tick between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, and already as a weak and vulnerable state, it will completely lose its subjectivity. In this case, Armenia will also not be able to take any action to protect the security of "Artsakh", which may result in the outflow of the indigenous population from this historical Armenian region and its final loss."
Armenian nationalists from Russia worry not so much about Zangezur or the separatist "Artsakh" that has sunk into oblivion, but about another project that is closer to them territorially and for so long a "standing" project. We are talking about plans to "Armenize" separatist Abkhazia.
After all, the logic of liquidating separatist formations and unblocking communications in Karabakh and Zaghezur will not stop in case of positive dynamics. Moreover, large geopolitical players are interested in unblocking communications. This means that sooner or later the territorial integrity of Georgia will be restored, and communications through Abkhazia will be unblocked by analogy.
The elimination of separatist projects in the South Caucasus “bury” the long and carefully constructed plans to create “another Armenian state” on the site of separatist Abkhazia and the border regions of the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. After all, both here and there the Armenians are already becoming an absolute majority. And most importantly, all the plans of the Armenian nationalists to liquidate the Georgian statehood and seize the Georgian lands will be destroyed.
The fight for the Zangezur corridor is also a fight for the future of Georgia. The project of this corridor will be implemented as the next step after the de-occupation of Karabakh - the de-occupation of Abkhazia will begin, the return of Georgian refugees there, and the unblocking of traffic through this Georgian territory, and the elimination of separatism.
Those who, sitting in Russia, using the Russian military force in their own interests, praise the Nazi Nzhdeh, dream today of realizing his ideas on the Georgian lands, "fixing" the ethnic cleansing of the Georgian population of Abkhazia. Therefore, they are doing everything to stop the process of eliminating separatism in the South Caucasus and unblocking communications.
