07.06.21 14:25

Georgian government vows that it spares no effort to actively raise the issue of Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions and peaceful settlement of the Russian-Georgian conflict on the international agenda.

Foreign policy and the issues related to the occupied territories are reviewed in the Georgian Prime Minister’s annual report which will be presented at today’s Bureau sitting.

According to the document, partner states and international organisations are constantly informed on Russian occupation policy and the steps taken towards annexation. On top of that, the document implies information on military drills in the occupied regions, kidnapping/illegal detentions of Georgian citizens as well as the security, human rights and the dire humanitarian situation;

The report also claims that the number of students enrolled in the higher education institutions of Georgia from the occupied territories is increasing from year to year.

“Promoting cooperation, reconciliation and building trust between societies separated by dividing lines is a particular priority for the Government of Georgia,” PM underscored.
