Immunization with the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm starts in Georgia from today

Vaccination with the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm will start in Georgia from today, May 4.

 

According to the National Center for Disease Control, 30 facilities and 33 vaccine brigades will take part in the immunization process today, and from May 5, another 44 medical facilities will be involved in the process.

 

At present, all three vaccines (AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm) are administered nationwide in 91 facilities with 137 brigades.

 

"Georgia is expanding its COVID-19 vaccination. According to the decision of the Immunization Council, Chinese-made Sinopharm will be added to AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines. The Sinopharm vaccine has been used in 45 countries. More than 200 million doses of it have been used abroad and in China. Citizens over the age of 18 are actively registering for vaccination with Sinopharm in Georgia, and a total of 17,613 citizens have been registered since April 27", - the statement reads.

 

For the record, Georgia has 100,000 doses of Sinopharm at its disposal.
