3,000 IT specialists to be retrained in World Bank tech programme

3,000 IT specialists will be retrained as a part of a programme supported by the World Bank. The programme’s budget is 7 million lari ($2,495,543/ €2,212,898).

 

The tender to retrain the specialists was announced earlier today at the Courtyard Marriott.

 

The free course will be launched in autumn 2019.

 

The programme includes courses in database management, programming, cyber-security, networks, project management, design, block chain and other IT professions.

 

Georgian Minister of Education Mikheil Batiashvili said the project will support the development of IT in Georgia as well as the preparation of highly-qualified personnel. 

 

"With the support of the World Bank we will have 3,000 high-qualified IT employees,” he said.


Georgian Deputy Economic Minister Nikoloz Alavidze said the demand for qualified IT specialists is high on international market.
