Nikoloz Basilashvili and James Ward to play 1st round of Wimbledon

Nikoloz Basilashvili, Georgian tennis player and James Ward, British sportsman will square off in the 1st round of Wimbledon for the 1st time in their career today.

 

Basilashvili will start his run in London after he played his last match in Halle where he lost 6-4 6-4 to Berrettini in the 1st round the 18th of June.

 

The Georgian tennis player has a 14-15 win-loss record in 2019, 0-2 on the grass. His best result of the season was reaching the semi-finals in Lyon. Last year at Wimbledon, Basilashvili lost in the 1st round 6-1 7-65 6-1 to Gilles Simon.

 

Ward will start his run in London after he played his last match in Eastbourne where he lost 2-6 6-3 6-1 to Fabbiano in the 1st round the 25th of June.

 

The British tennis player has a 13-19 win-loss record in 2019, 6-4 on the grass. James’s best result of the current year was reaching the semi-finals in Leon Challenger. Last year at Wimbledon, he lost in the qualifications 6-4 6-2 1-6 6-0 to Benjamin Bonzi.
