No bullet, which is prohibited by law or is not used in similar situations, was used on June 20-21, - Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at the meeting with talk-show journalists.

As Gakharia noted, the use of special equipments has its protocol, violation of which should become the subject of investigation.

“I want to tell you one thing, the rally was absolutely peaceful from 7 to 10 pm. There was no problem at all until the direct calls for attacking the state institutions, which was later carried out in practice," said Gakharia.

According to the Minister, police has the right to use tear gas, batons, rubber bullets and water cannons.

“Unfortunately, we had to use all this to protect the constitution, state institutions and the lives of our citizens,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs.
