The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili met with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

According to their reports, the productive cooperation between the two countries, both at the bilateral level and within the framework of international organizations, as well as the friendly nature of long-term relations, was emphasized at the meeting.

 

"Attention was paid to the importance of trade-economic and transport-logistics cooperation and the development of joint regional projects.

 

Shalva Papuashvili thanked the President of Turkmenistan. For the decision to open the monument of Shota Rustaveli in Ashkhabad, which will contribute to the further strengthening of ties between peoples.

 

Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

 

The meeting was held within the current official visit of Shalva Papuashvili and the accompanying parliamentary delegation to the Central Asian region.

 

The parliamentary delegation headed by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili includes: Kakha Kakhishvili, Head of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee; Davit Matikashvili, Head of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Turkmenistan, First Deputy Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee; Irakli Mezurnishvili, head of the friendship group with the Parliament of Uzbekistan, first deputy chairman of the Culture Committee, Baia Kvitsiani, deputy chairman of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee of the Parliament; Anton Obolashvili, member of the Finance and Budget Committee; Sozar Subari, a member of the Agrarian Affairs Committee", - it is mentioned in the information.
