“Georgia has the best team with an unbeatable spirit. I believe Georgia will win today,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The PM hopes the Georgian football team will defeat Greece tonight.
“Georgian team played its first official match 30 years ago, in 1994. The team was born and grew up before our eyes. We all remember each step that the team made, every victory. For 30 years, we have tried to qualify for the European Championship 14 times, but our dream did not come true. However, faithful football fans never abandoned the team.
We have never lost faith in the Georgian football gene and our boys that they will make our dream come true and repeat what happened on May 13. Half a step remains. We have the best team with the spirit of winning. I believe our fellows will compete with their hearts and souls and write a new page in the history of Georgian football. I believe that Georgia will win today,” he said.
Georgia will face Greece at Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena Stadium in Tbilisi. GPB’s First Channel and Georgian Radio (FM 102.3) will broadcast live the match, which will kick off at 9 p.m.
Tonight’s winner will win a ticket to the European Championships this summer in Germany.
