In the Human Development Index (HDI), Georgia is in the category of a country with a "very high level of human development" and tooks the 60th place in the world ranking, - stated in the "Human Development" report of 2023-2024 published by the United Nations.

 

Georgia ranks ahead of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Albania, China and others.

 

Georgia's ranking position in the Human Development Index improved by 4 points in the period 2015-2022, and with this indicator of improvement, Georgia ranks eleventh among "very high level countries" in the world, after Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Croatia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Uruguay, Panama, Malaysia, Costa Rica. , after Thailand.

 

In the United Nations Human Development Index, countries are divided into 4 categories according to the "very high", "high", "medium" and "low" level of development.
