Georgian FM meets Finnish counterpart

During his visit to Finland, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with Elina Valtonen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland.

 

The ministers discussed the current relations between Georgia and Finland, emphasizing the positive cooperation in various areas. They highlighted the importance of the Georgian-Finnish Business Forum to enhance business relations between the two countries.

 

The discussions also included Georgia’s accession process to the European Union, with Darchiashvili underlining the significance of obtaining candidate status and seeking support from member states, including Finland, for the opening of EU accession negotiations.

 

Both ministers expressed their readiness to continue and strengthen the cooperation between the two countries. Darchiashvili extended an invitation to his Finnish counterpart to visit Georgia.
