Snow expected in Georgia on February 5-8, strong wind on February 6

05.02.24 10:08

The National Environment Agency has issued a weather forecast for Georgia from February 5 to February 8. The forecast includes expectations of precipitation, mainly in the form of snow, with heavy snowfall anticipated in some places, particularly in the western part of the country. Other expected weather conditions include fog, blizzards in mountainous regions, slippery ice on roads, the danger of avalanches, freezing of power lines, and the possibility of a strong sea storm up to 6 points.

Due to the anticipated weather conditions, the National Environment Agency warns that there may be restrictions on traffic on certain sections of highways, especially where heavy snowfall, poor visibility, blizzards, and ice pose risks.

“Abundant precipitation can cause swelling of small rivers and the formation-activation of landslide and avalanche processes in the mountainous regions,” the Agency states.
