Catholics celebrate Christmas today

Today the Catholic Church celebrates the birth of the Savior. The State Agency for Religious Affairs disseminates information about this.

 

According to their information, Bishop Giuseppe Pazzoto led the Christmas service in the Catholic Church of the Ascension of the Mother of God in Tbilisi.

 

Before the solemn service, the organ was blessed and a solemn concert was held.

 

"Nino Chavchavadze, head of the Strategic Research, Analysis and Regions Service of the State Agency for Religious Affairs, congratulated the parishioners and clergy gathered in the church on behalf of the Government of Georgia on Christmas and the next New Year, wishing them peace, stability and life in a happy country.

 

Sergo Farulava, senior specialist of the Agency for Religion's Strategic Research, Analysis and Regions Service and Aleksandre Shekiladze, a lawyer from the Legal Assurance Service, attended the ceremony.

 

In addition, according to the information of the State Agency for Religious Affairs, Father Gabriele Bragantini led the solemn service in the Catholic Church named after the Holy Spirit in Batumi.

 

According to their reports, Abesalom Aslanidze, the coordinator of the State Agency for Religious Affairs in Adjara, congratulated the parishioners and clergy gathered in the church on Christmas and New Year and wished them to live in a peaceful country. The coordinator of the agency also congratulated the congregation gathered in the Protestant Church of the Holy Trinity in Batumi, where pastor Gennady Malakmadze led the solemn service.

 

The Catholic parish of Samtskhe-Javakheti also celebrated Christmas.
