The Board of Trustees of TBC Bank Group is confident Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze are innocent and look forward to refuting all disputes against them, - "TBC Bank” group said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, the "TBC Bank” group (TBC PLC) confirms that on July 24, following the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, “TBC Bank” group Chairman Mamuka Khazaradze and Deputy Chairman Badri Japaridze decided to leave their posts. “They have made this decision in order the charges against them not have any influence on the group's activities and that they are free to continue the dispute.
"The Group’s Supervisory Board and Management thank Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze for their unique role in establishing TBC Bank in the difficult 90s. Also, for their highly significant contribution to the successful development of the bank and to turning it into one of the largest and most respectable companies in the South Caucasus.
Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze will try to join the Board of Trustees of TBC Bank Group after the accusations against them are refuted. The Board of Trustees of TBC Bank is confident Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze are innocent and look forward to refuting all disputes against them, including the accusation about the money laundering.
It should also be noted that the Supervisory Board has immediately appointed independent director of the TBC Bank Group Nikoloz Enukidze as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board," the statement reads.
