Georgian Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava will participate in the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Vienna, Austria.

Bilateral meetings will occur on the sidelines of the World Conference, the largest gathering of speakers under the umbrella of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the United Nations, due on September 6-8.

“In times of a pandemic, which is a global challenge for our health and social systems, for our economies, security and the well-being of our populations, it is more important than ever for parliaments to move closer and try to tackle current challenges together. Parliaments play a crucial role in this endeavour. Therefore, it is essential that inter-parliamentary dialogue returns to a physical negotiating table to have a direct exchange on all of these pressing issues,” said Wolfgang Sobotka, President of the Austrian National Council.

The Georgian parliamentary delegation also includes Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.
