The 53rd round of the Geneva International Discussions to begin today

The 53rd round of the Geneva International Discussions begins today. According to the Georgian delegation, their main issue will be the release of detainees in the occupied territories.

 

 

According to them, it is critical for Russia to implement the EU-brokered ceasefire agreement of 12 August 2008 and to make progress in the Geneva International Discussions on key issues on the agenda, such as establishing international security mechanisms on the ground, non-use of force, the return of IDPs and refugees to their homes.

 

According to the members of the delegation, they will spare no effort to find ways to solve the security challenges arising from the Russian occupation and the problems of the population affected by the Russia-Georgia conflict during the next rounds of the Geneva International Discussions.
