The average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 4.4% (53.5 Gel), and amounted to 1 256.2 Gel in the I quarter of 2021, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, Georgia’s National Statistics Office (GeoStat) reported on Wednesday.
According to the economic activity, the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
Financial and insurance activities – 2 448.5 Gel (decreased by 5.7 % )
Information and communication – 2 159.8 Gel (increased by 14.4 %)
Professional, scientific and technical activities – 1 798.9 Gel (increased by 0.2 %)
Construction – 1 664.5 Gel (decreased – by 2.3 %)
In the I quarter of 2021, the average earnings equaled to 1 022.9 Gel for women, while 1 473.4 Gel for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to 62.5 Gel for women and 49.5 Gel for men. In the majority of sectors of the economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women, GeoStat stated.
The agency added that the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by 56.5 Gel and equaled to 1 283.5 Gel, while in the non-business and financial sector, the average monthly earnings increased by 52.2 Gel and amounted to 1 213.3 Gel.
According to the economic activity, the highest monthly earnings were observed in the Financial and insurance activities.
