It is a fault and inaction of the government that the introduction of even a symbolic dose of the vaccine is delayed, - Sergo Chikhladze, one of the leaders of Strategy Builder, told InterPressNews.
As Sergo Chikhladze notes, the delay in vaccination against coronavirus is connected with the ineffective actions of the government.
"The Covax vaccine will not be delivered from the platform even in the promised timeframe. It turned out to be a few more weeks late. We are dealing with ineffective actions of the government, bad management and passivity. In countries far less developed than us, economically poor, vaccines have already been introduced from the Covax platform and through direct negotiations with manufacturers. Vaccination has already started in countries that are poorer than us.
Therefore, of course, it is the "achievement" of the government that the vaccination is delayed, this process is unfortunate. In addition, we are talking about symbolic doses, which according to the plan written by the government is enough for quarter of a week. According to the plan written by the government, we have to do up to 73-90 thousand doses a week. 300-400 thousand doses per month should be done for 9-10 months to meet the rate that is in the plan.
It is a fault and inaction of the government that the introduction of even a symbolic dose of the vaccine is delayed. We see the delay everywhere, they do not negotiate with manufacturers, friendly countries, the Covax platform is also late", - Chikhladze said.
According to Sergo Chikhladze, against the background of the delay in the start of the vaccination process, the plan announced by the government to vaccinate 60% of the population by the end of the year is unattainable.
