According to the final version of the 2021 budget, the budget of the Ministry of Health amounts to 5 563.0 million GEL. The budget of the agency has been increased, both compared to the previous submission of the draft budget for 2021, as well as the approved plan for 2020.

 

In particular, the budget of the Ministry of Health has increased by 711.0 million GEL compared to the previous submission, and by 48.0 million GEL compared to the approved plan for 2020.

 

The budget of the Ministry also reflects the expenses related to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (COVID-19) for 2021. The budget of the Ministry of Health is divided according to separate programs as follows: Social protection of the population - 3 839.9 million GEL; Healthcare of the population - 1 548.6 million GEL, which in turn includes 400.0 million GEL for COVID-19 related health services; Rehabilitation and equipping of medical institutions - 30.0 million GEL; Labor and employment system reform program - GEL 8.9 million; Assistance to internally displaced persons and migrants - GEL 71.8 million.
