Tbilisi police detain two citizens of Ukraine for selling counterfeit money

Police have detained two citizens of the Republic of Ukraine on the fact of selling counterfeit money, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia said on Saturday.

 

According to the Ministry, law enforcers seized 12 counterfeit 500-euro banknotes during the personal search of the detainees.

 

“The officers of Tbilisi Police Department of the Internal Affairs Ministry have detained two citizens of Ukraine – E.M. (DoB 1994) and A.A. (DoB 1989) for selling of counterfeit money. The crime envisages from 4 to 10 years of imprisonment,” the Internal Affairs Ministry said.

 

According to the Ministry statement, an investigation is underway under Sub-paragraph “a”, Paragraph II, the Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
