Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia releases a statement on termination of an investment agreement with Anaklia Consortium.
According to the Ministry, the contractual relationship between the Government of Georgia and the Anaklia Development Consortium has been terminated in compliance with all legal grounds and norms.
Therefore, the ministry explains that any statement by the government and the consortium on the possibility of continuing relations under the same agreement is false and serves only political speculation.
As for the prospect of the Anaklia Port Project, the statement notes that the Georgian Government reaffirms the importance of deepwater port construction and begins preparatory procedures for the re-tender of the project.
