Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency calls on airlines registered in Georgia to refrain from using the airspace of Iran and Iraq, - reads the statement posted on the Civil Aviation Agency website.

 

According to the statement, information is exchanged between international aviation organizations and aviation authorities on a regular basis to assess risks and ensure the safety of passengers and flights.

 

"Based on the recommendation of the Integrated EU aviation security risk assessment group, given the safety risks in the Iranian and Iraqi air space, the Civil Aviation Agency calls on airlines registered in Georgia to refrain from using the airspace of the mentioned countries”, reads the statement.

 

The Civil Aviation Agency once again extends its condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed in the crash of a plane belonging to Ukraine International Airlines (UIA).
