According to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the 26 football players who were called to the final match between Georgia and Greece will be awarded the Order of Honor.
As Irakli Kobakhidze explained at today's meeting of the government, the entire team staff and the leadership of the Federation will also be nominated for the Order of Honor.
"As you know, yesterday together with the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, we made a decision to award the members of our entire national team with the Order of Honor. I would like to clarify that 26 players who were called to the final matches will be awarded. I congratulate each of them on the Order of Honor. Also, the entire team staff will be awarded the Order of Merit. The leadership of the Federation will also be nominated for the Order. They are really decent people. This is a minimum appreciation that they can get from the country and the state. I want to congratulate you once again, to congratulate our players, our national team and the Federation. I am sure that many more victories and successes are ahead of us. I wish success to our national team at the European Championship. Today, football is the only relevant topic, therefore, I don't think it is worth making a statement on other issues," said Kobakhidze.
For the first time in history, the national football team of Georgia will play at the European Championship.
The national team of Georgia defeated the national team of Greece in the final match of the qualifying stage of Euro 2024 yesterday.
