Georgia is one of the most loyal and reliable partners of the alliance - we highly appreciate the Secretary General's timely and fair statements regarding the current events in the occupied territories of Georgia, - said the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, at the briefing after the meeting with the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg.
According to him, the issues of NATO-Georgia cooperation and topics related to the integration process were discussed at the meeting.
"I want to thank you personally for your support to our country, to our country's Euro-Atlantic aspirations. Your 10-year tenure as Secretary General of NATO coincided with unprecedented challenges and difficulties, but under your leadership many challenges were overcome and NATO continues to be the main guarantor of Euro-Atlantic security. I am glad that today we once again discussed the issues of NATO-Georgia cooperation and also our integration process. I would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks to NATO and personally to the Secretary General for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Also, we highly appreciate the Secretary General's timely and fair statements regarding the current events in the occupied territories of Georgia. Georgia is one of the most loyal and reliable partners of the Alliance, which I would like to emphasize. Over the years, our country has actively participated in the ongoing operations under the auspices of NATO, thereby making a significant contribution to strengthening the common Euro-Atlantic security. On the other hand, NATO played and continues to play an important role in the development of Georgia's defense capabilities. Today is a difficult and challenging period in Europe. The rules-based international order is undergoing fundamental changes. The whole idea of a free and peaceful Europe is under threat. In this difficult situation, the international community must show unanimity and strong commitment to the principles of international law. I would like to thank you once again for coming to Georgia, which is another, very strong expression of your support for Georgia", said Irakli Kobakhidze.
