Georgian honey has been highly praised at Apimondia 2019 exhibition taking place in Canada between September 8-12. Organised by the Canadian Ministry of Agriculture, the main theme of the exhibition was the role of beekeeping in the development of agriculture.

The honey samples of the West Georgian Beekeepers Association, Georgian Traditional Winemaking, Nena and Mercy Corps received high praise from field specialists and exhibitors.

Members of the Georgian delegation had the opportunity to discuss the existing challenges in the field worldwide and researchers shared the latest advances in the science.

We are proud that Georgian products were exhibited on such a scale of the exhibition. Participating companies had an opportunity to present Georgian honey with unique features to the world. At the same time they received information on innovations that will enable Georgian honey to gain a dignified place on the world market,”said Khatia Tsilosani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

Apimondia is the International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations.

Its major objective is to facilitate the exchange of information and discussions on apiculture (beekeeping) by organizing congresses and symposia where beekeepers, scientists, honey-traders, agents for development, technicians and legislators meet to listen, discuss and learn from one another.
